Canadian Mounties vs. Atomic Invaders: Chapter 5(1953)

1950s Republic serial where Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers Don Roberts and Kay Conway foil a communist plot to build a missile base station in the Yukon with the aim of bombarding American cities with nuclear weapons. Plot sounds more exciting than the actual action scenes staged. In this episode, Pursuit to Destruction, Don discovers the hideaway of two of the communist agents and as they try to escape in their sedan Don pursues after them in his station wagon. In a cliff hanger ending, one of Don’s tires is shot out, causing the vehicle to spectacularly tumble down a cliff. The following episode reveals that Don leaps out of vehicle just in the nick of time.
