G-Men Never Forget: Chapter 2 - 100,000 Volts(1948)

1940s Republic serial focusing upon the story of escaped arch criminal Victor Murkland who kidnaps the police commissioner and through the aid of plastic surgery, assumes his place. Thwarting Murkland’s plans at every step is Federal Agent Ted O'Hara who is unaware that Murkland is impersonating the police commissioner. In this chapter, O’Hara spots Duke, one of Murkland’s henchmen, loading up on pyroxene used in a series of arson attacks. After exchanging gunfire, Duke speeds off and O’Hara pursues after him in his vehicle. Duke eludes O’Hara by speeding past an oncoming freight train before it makes a railway crossing, whereas O’Hara is forced to brake to avoid collision with the train. Great stunt driving on display.
