Getaway screeches into cinemas at the end of this month, starring Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez (really?) and a salivating Shelby Mustang GT500.
A new video featurette gives some insight into the numerous car chase action sequences. While the initial trailer hinted that the director had an appetite for destruction, the featurette reveals that over 130 cars met their demise during the filming of Getaway - the majority of which appear to be crusty Bulgarian police cars, so we won't be shedding too many tears.
To put that into perspective, that's a similar car crash count to A Good Day to Die Hard - although all of this wanton destruction was crammed into its 12 minute opening chase sequence alone.
Thankfully, Getaway's stuntwork was performed for real, too, compared to the majority of films that rely on CGI trickery. That alone has raised our anticipation, and makes us forget about the unimaginative plot and incredulous casting of Disney princess Gomez.
